Job Description:
The Licensed Casual Position for Special Education College and Career Coach will be limited to 20 hours per week.
The Licensed Casual Position for College and Career Coach will perform the following duties, as deemed appropriate for Students with Disabilities (SWD), under the supervision of the Career and Transition Services Coordinator:
For SWDs on Track for Standard Diploma in 4 years:
For SWDs Potentially Credit Deficient for Standard Diploma in 4 years:
Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience teaching Special Education

The Licensed Casual Position for College and Career Coach will perform the following duties, as deemed appropriate for Students with Disabilities (SWD), under the supervision of the Career and Transition Services Coordinator:
For SWDs on Track for Standard Diploma in 4 years:
- Meet individually with students - conduct college and career surveys/inventories
- For students unsure of post-secondary plans:
- Plan and conduct lessons from the ACPS Career and Transition Curriculum, utilizing Virtual Job Shadow and Oneder resources as appropriate;
- Schedule virtual college tours (both community college and 4-year schools) and other postsecondary education or training programs that align with interests
- For students considering college:
- Schedule virtual college tours (both community college and 4-year schools)
- For students considering other postsecondary education or training program
- Conduct virtual tours of programs that align with interests
- Identify next steps - assist the student(s) with organization and management of "things to do" - i.e. applications; essays; requesting references, etc.
- Explore options for funding program or college of interest; assist the student(s) with planning for next steps (i.e. scholarships, grants, federal funding, etc.).
For SWDs Potentially Credit Deficient for Standard Diploma in 4 years:
- Meet with individual students to conduct interest inventories for potential career exploration.
- Plan specific Virtual Job Shadow (VJS) experiences for students; view VJS with students; engage in debriefing and establish follow-up plan based on student interest
- Coordinate need for an internship with the Coordinator of Career and Transition Services
- For students considering other postsecondary education or training program
- Conduct virtual tours of programs that align with interests
Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience teaching Special Education
Clearances:
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
- Tuberculosis Skin Test.
Public Health Compliance
- Proof of COVID vaccination. Exemptions for religious/medical will be reviewed.
- Must follow safety and health protocols.
