We seek a dynamic and innovative Senior Interior Designer to work closely with Principals, PM's, Designers and Architects to help develop exciting new-build multi-family and hospitality projects!As Senior Interior Designer, you (alongside Creative Director) will conceptualize the vision, set an initial design scope and make critical aesthetic decisions throughout the project. You will oversee Jr. Designers with interior finish and furnishing selections, documenting specs, and developing custom FF&E. You will coordinate with Architects on the development of the technical design and on the preparation of architectural design and construction documents. Your will help promote the RDJA brand as a critical member of the firm.Responsibilities Include:Create (alongside Creative Director) the design narrative and graphics for concept presentation. Oversees and monitors project design development.Oversee design presentations, monitors project design development, and provides design direction and support to ensure consistent and high-quality design across the firm.Support RDJA brand and the teams accomplishments by serving as a brand ambassador for the firm.Create conceptual design and interior architecture through 3-D massing conceptualization and space planning and design the interior architectural envelope.Ensure timeliness and accuracy of graphic formatting and story boards for presentations.Select finishes, fixtures, and furniture for projects and coordinate specifications with drawings to meet project requirements.Create project designs & plans for all phases of projects & coordinates building design consultants while monitoring drawings.Develops solutions & creates project designs & plans to client. Initiates & creates project design & plans of all phases of one or more projects & has responsibility for preparing presentation and design drawings. Coordinates all trades & agencies related to building design while monitoring drawings.Prepare project production design and drawings using computer assisted design softwareListen to project stakeholder input and ensure client satisfaction; be there for clients! Format presentations that clearly communicates the design to both the team and client.Review detailed construction documents including floor plans, elevations and sections, electrical details, finish schedules, furniture floor plans, FF&E specs, finish boards, and materials to determine compliance in quality, design, and codes. You are responsible for reviewing project specifications prior to issuance to AOR, client and/or operator.Prepare task lists and internal project schedules; manage multiple projects at once. Review redlined elevations, renderings and light fixtures;Complete plan / RCP / and elevations and make changes in RevitQuality control for project reviews to confirm documents meet all stakeholder standardsApprove finishes and millwork shop drawings throughout project scopeCoordinate with other project consultants to complete drawingsQualified Candidates Possess:BA in architecture / design from a 4-year Interior Design program or equivalent required7+ years of experience, 5+ of which within hospitality, multifamily or senior living industryProven track record successfully completing (from start to finish) 5+ jobsClear communication skills and a willingness to apply your experience and expertiseStrong organization and time management skills you are precise and focusedIndustry knowledge of FF&E resources and standards for specification writingExpertise in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office for PCNCIDQ Licensure, LEED Certification preferred; SketchUp, Lumion experience is a plus!Other Key Skills:Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.Must be able to express strategic concepts analytically and graphicallyAn ability to problem-solve and resolve conflicts internally and externallySpace planning and hand-sketching skills and excellent presentation skillsApplicant must supply design portfolio that demonstrates applicable work experience.Please submit digital portfolio (PDF, Max 8MB) and resume to Courtney Hernandez (chernandez@rdjones.com).
