Sales Manager, Business to Business This position is located in Reston, VA This position is not remote work US Citizenship or Green Card Holder - no sponsorship available PURPOSE - The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving business goals for International, Value-Added Manufacturing and Foodservice Emergent Channel consistent with volume and profit targets. The Sales Manager owns the sales planning, customer acquisition/retention and execution against volume and profitability objectives. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES - International BusinessGenerate the International Business sales to optimize the Ecuador StarKist Plant Capacity in the most profitable way. Provide strategic input, reflecting marketplace and customer requirements to support the planning process. Achieve volume, net sales and operating income goals through excellent customer service and working together with the International team and cross functional teams at the Plant and Corporate Office. Develop a diversified portfolio of customers in different markets focusing in relationships that can grow in the medium & long term. Manage effectively customer and broker relationships to deliver the International business goals and objectives. Evaluate and get internal price approval to quote customers/brokers. Responsible for the Business volume forecast. Oversee that the orders are successfully delivered according client's expectations. Monitor new product development and projects working together with cross functional teams (R&D, Quality, Operations and Finance). Review monthly the sales volume, net sales and operating income vs. the Plan. Value added Manufacturing BusinessesGenerate profitable sales of the entire production of Fishmeal and Fish Oil out of Samoa Plant and Red Meat out of Ecuador Plant. Maximize the profitability of the Value-Added Manufacturing Businesses through the understanding of the market opportunities, ability to create unique product value proposition and develop and retain long term customer relationships. Manage the volume forecast and pricing implementation to reach the Businesses' goals. Work closely with Production and Logistics Departments at the Plants to make sure that the orders are satisfactory delivered according customer's needs. Emergent ChannelsGenerate profitable sales of the Foodservice Emergent Channel by identifying the biggest opportunities working with the broker/customers to achieve the Business Plan. Prepare, present and own the bottom-up sales planning process for the assigned Channel including the forecast process. Build effective proposals, based on customer needs, consumer insights and the customer's decision criteria and implement the strategies to achieve the Plan. Build strategic relationships with decision makers in assigned accounts. Work closely with the broker sales organization or operator to identify opportunities for growth in the Channel and train them in the implementation strategies. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES- Bachelor Degree required A minimum of 3 - 5 years of sales experience required with a demonstration of channel/territorymanagement resulting in profitable volume, customer penetration, attainment of new customers and growth. Be proficient in English and Spanish is required Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrated by effective presentation, influence, and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders. Command of business acumen and strong business intuition demonstrated by discernment that not every sales opportunity is equal and a track record of securing profitable volume and walking away from less profitable deals. Strong analytical skills demonstrated by previous experience utilizing systems for tracking and recording sales, effective business planning and data-driven strategy for maintaining current and securing new customers.
