JMA is seeking a project accountant with some commercial accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry. This role is ideal for someone looking to advance into a mid-level role who is capable of fulfilling the project accounting and project forecasting requirements of multiple mid-sized projects or a singular large project.The employee will work closely with myriad project team members (including owners, principals, project managers, engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, & consultants). Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:- Project cost accounting including preparation of owner draws, collection of payments, and subcontractor compliance reviews- Managing invoice & payment process for preconstruction services- Creation and analysis of financial reports- Assisting with strategic planning/forecasting of project financials- Assisting with project audits- Managing the financial closeout process- Reviewing owner contracts to understand accounting requirements- Supporting operations staff- Assisting corporate staff with other duties on an as-needed basisQualificationsWe are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:- Associates degree in accounting, finance, business or equivalent combination of education & experience- Excellent listening skills and strong oral and written communication skills- The ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues- A strong work ethic and a "can-do"A' attitude- Ability to train, mentor, and supervise junior team members- Preference will be given to candidates with construction/general contractor accounting experience
