CANDIDATE MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE IN THE UNITED STATES The individual will design and specify mechanical and plumbing systems including but not limited to HVAC, Plumbing, Pumping, Industrial Equipment, etc, contained within a variety of facilities. Perform site inspection during construction as well as participate in substantial Completion Inspections and Commissioning. This position will require personnel to possess a valid driver's license and be capable of accessing mechanical equipment located on roof tops, tunnels or other physically demanding locations.An ideal candidate has:Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in HVAC/Plumbing DesignA Bachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringPE registration a plusExperience with design, development, testing and commissioning of HVAC and Plumbing systemsExperience in scope of work review and specifications developmentProficiency in Mechanical / Plumbing engineering designs utilizing AutoCAD and REVIT is REQUIRED; you will be asked to demonstrate proficiency with REVIT during the interview process.Good written and verbal communication skillsFlexibility to travel to facilities in the Washington, DC Metro Area and surrounding states (day travel)Experience with WMATA work a big plusTasks may include but not be limited to:Develop design plans, specifications, shop drawings, catalog cuts, and samples for new facilities and system rehabilitation to determine and ensure consistency with the mechanical function as used and maintained within the facility, from a constructability, state of the art, and safety perspective, in accordance with Owner's Design Criteria and Specifications, International Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, and Plumbing Codes adopted by the authority having jurisdiction.Prepare designs and drawings for assigned projects, to include but is not limited to modifications to systems for industrial spaces such as bus garages and rail maintenance facilities, office space and transit facilities.Ensure adequacy and adherence to mechanical engineering practices and principles for new and existing facilities.Integrate buildings automation consistent with Owner's standards.Prepare or review feasibility studies, special reports, cost estimates, and investigations to resolve problems that have to do with mechanical systems, their related user needs and requirements.Ensure resolutions are compliant with applicable codes and regulations.Participate in Substantial Completion Inspections to determine compliance with drawings and specifications, proper functioning of systems and sequencing of operation Systems as defined in the corresponding Conformed Contract.Respond to Request for Information (RFIs) from contractors or field personnel when requested.
