This role is a contract opportunity located in St Louis, MO. No 3 rd party agencies or Corp to Corp please . Will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. We are in search of an architect level Scala/JVM application engineer with strong expertise in Software engineering, API services, Web development, Server type applications and experience with Lightbend tools: Scala, Play, Lagom, Akka . This role is on the Data Historian (Home Grown Data Lake) platform team.We are integrating our application with Google Cloud. Our services (written in Scala) need to be extended to interface with GCP services.What We Are Looking For Senior architect level DevOps skilled Scala/JVM developer Strong expertise in Software engineering, API services, Web development, Server type applications. Strong Kubernetes and Docker expertise Experience with Microservice architecture Strong AWS experience with focus on Logging, Monitoring and Alerting solutions Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus Experience with Vault authorizations Data lake and Spark experience is a plus Experience with continuous integration and build tools (Git, Jenkins, etc.) Understanding of database fundamentals Solid systems programming basics (disk, network, operating systems, etc.) Strong verbal and written communication Strong interpersonal communication capabilities working in a collaborative team environment Strong desire to tackle hard technical problems and proven ability do so with little or no direct daily supervisionWhy You Should Join Us Work with other top level talent solving a wide range of complex and unique challenges that have real world impact We value the exploration of all relevant technologies to find the best solution for each class of problem Our environment values your talent over a role or title. It is designed to handle ingestion, storage, processing, and access of datasets at low cost in AWS the cloud.
