Government of the District of ColumbiaOffice of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO)Accounting Technician$45,721.00 - $64,606.00 The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of an Accounting Technician. This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Not for Profit Hospital Corporation (NFPHC), United Medical Center (UMC). The incumbent is responsible for assisting accounting and/or financial management personnel with a range of duties relating to complex accounts processing and reconciliation functions. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: Providing technical support for a variety of payments and accounts which generate a variety of transactions for a full range of accounts.Maintaining accounts by reviewing documents to verify accounting data as necessary, entering data into the system.Reconciling accounts, comparing account balances with related data to assure agreement. Examining accounts to verify the accuracy of accounts and adequacy of supporting data, and preparing worksheets or reports reflecting the examinations made, discrepancies noted, and the corrective actions required to adjust accounts.Maintaining complete, accurate and orderly accounts payable files for all purchase orders, assigned vendors and service providers.Preparing and processing travel advances and expense reimbursements for OCFO employees.Maintaining a system to track and reconcile large contracts managed by departments within the OCFO.Logging and assigning incoming invoices, letters and packages.t, DC Court of Appeals, or other courts, on draft briefs, settlements, or litigation strategyPerforms other related duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree* or two (2) years of general work experience performing duties related to providing administrative, clerical and/or financial support.*If qualifying based on education, applicants must submit an official transcript that verifies a Bachelor's degree.
