Position: Product Manager Location: Boston, MA, Austin, TX, Chicago, IL, Charlottesville, VA, Salt Lake City, UT or Vienna, VA Objective: WorldStrides Product Managers have demonstrated knowledge and measurable results indicating an ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, including peer Product Managers within other product lines of the business, to execute on the vision to deliver value that will be leveraged across the entire portfolio of WorldStrides products. The Product Manager will deliver performance and metric reporting related to the management of the product life cycle, performance in the market, profitability, market position, the adaption and usage of essential product elements and features. The Product Manager leads with a quantifiable bias towards product vision, quality, productivity, and efficiency gained collaboratively through continuous improvement and change management. The development of key performance metrics will be essential. Other success factors include: Manages product improvements, addition, and elimination of features, sunsetting of non-value add products. Guides the success of a product through the product lifecycle. Delivers consistent results in meeting stakeholders' expectations through product performance, resulting in brand equity, stronger sales and retention, and growth for WorldStrides. Articulates the buyer/ user and liaison's product requirements to translate business objectives and client needs into product feature sets. Leads the continuous enhancement, or addition, of features and initiatives to ensure work focuses on those that are aligned with the product vision and provide the maximum buyer/user/liaison value. Owns a key piece of the company's mission, vision and roadmap for new growth directed by driving cross-functional execution, making thoughtful product decisions, and sharing insights and results throughout the Company. Identifies as the expert in the Higher Education market by understands the competitive landscape and emerging/existing market trends, create solutions to the market needs and capitalize on the market trends. Ensures that all products contain essential feature elements. Aligns metrics with WorldStrides' vision, mission, brand, service, and growth objectives. Essential Responsibilities: Product Strategy/Design/Development Drive strategic direction of products through prioritization based on sound business cases and thorough understanding of market/customer needs and interaction/feedback with users, buyers, liaisons and prospects. Collaborate with other Product Managers to ensure consistency and replicability of features and product strategy throughout the entire Company portfolio. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to scope work, understand impact, and gain consensus. Create and maintain roadmap and coordinate adoption of deliverables with other product lines and the Product Management team. Serve as a liaison with peers across business units, between technology teams, operations, marketing vendors, sales and other support teams to align needs and goals, as well as share information and resources. Achieve targets on financial contribution margin for each product. Bring best practices and methods to the team to level up overall practices. Determine which ideas should be promoted into features, enhancements, services and new offerings to push the product strategy forward. Clearly articulate the product vision and strategy to the Enterprise, so stakeholders understand the intent behind the new product, product feature revisions or product sunsetting. Define proposed offerings, outlining how to introduce offering, messaging, customer segment, resources, and what partners would be required to build the offering. Develop standardized product design, content, terminology and presentation to buyers and users. Product Implementation/Execution Communicate and effectively work with key internal and external stakeholders to create buy-in for product vision, deliver successful product releases and establish customer adoption. Promote products through supporting marketing material, launch plans, and various other sales tools to support internal and external customers. Provide product expertise, guidance, support and input into internal and external communications, sales, training, and implementation. Participate in all areas of the product lifecycle from gathering requirements to launch to market receptiveness to sunsetting the product. Determine measures and policies around the product to advance/ comply with social responsibility, health and safety, and diversity, equity, inclusion and education Product Performance and Consumer & Marketplace Insights Design success metrics and evaluate program effectiveness, program performance, buyer, user and liaison experiences through routine performance analysis. Create and maintain a competitive landscape analysis. Research competitor products to figure out what not to do and what can be done. Thoroughly assess competitors in the market, understand their strengths and weaknesses. Conduct market research/ analysis. Understand market trends and buyers, users and liaisons need through continuous gathering and assessing of inputs from end users, customers, prospects, competitors, sales reps, customer service, voice of the customer and other internal and external stakeholders. Validate marketplace needs; determining the business model; and assessing the implications for operations, marketing, sales, support and budgeting. Maintain strong partnerships with teams, vendors, Tourist Boards, and sponsors. Act on virtual or in-person opportunities to engage buyers, users and liaisons. Support sales and marketing efforts as needed including attending and presenting at events, tradeshows, etc. Qualifications: Four-year college degree required. Advanced degree preferred. Demonstrates leadership experience maximizing the customer experience in a stakeholder-centric business that supports multiple brands, products, and service execution/expectation objectives. Strong solution-oriented attitude with demonstrated ability to collaboratively implement change through technology, process improvements and features that delivers sustainable attainment of performance and service metrics aligned with business growth, service, and fiscal objectives. Requires a unique blend of thinking strategically, hands-on practical experience, and excellent communication skills. Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates strong organizational ability, attention to detail and follow through. Demonstrates ability to manage large amounts of information while under pressure. Ability to adapt to, and help construct, new business processes in an effort to improve internal efficiency. Ability to visually proof and analyze documents, along with strong analytical skills. Must be able to travel to engage buyers, users and liaisons, for vendor visits and attend key trade show events. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including group presentation skills and the ability to diplomatically handle cross-functional communications.
