EMI is looking for a Fire System Mechanic to install, test, maintain and repair fire safety and security systems, such as fire alarms and suppression systems, that ensure the safety of occupants of both residential and commercial facilities. The Fire System Mechanic will be able to install and update fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings. This Fire System Mechanic will perform inspections, test alarms, and troubleshoot or document any issues. This Fire System Mechanic will also respond to emergency service calls and ensure the systems are functioning properly.Key Responsibilities:Install or upgrade fire alarms in commercial and/or residential buildingsTest and repair alarm systems already in placePerform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to codeComplete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issuesRespond to emergency service callsProvide preliminary cost estimates for materials and services.Maintain current license and identification card to meet governmental regulations.Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work.Performance Capabilities:Effective oral and written communication skills.Effective technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Thorough knowledge of working with metals, copper, brass, pipes, steel, iron, and any material that is required to be melted, heated, or fused.Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in commercial/industrial settings; applicable building and safety code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment.Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including; alterations and repairs.Must be able to read and understand blueprints.Present professional appearance and demeanor.Understand and adhere to policies and procedures as set by EMI Services.Promote and maintain a positive image of EMI Services to our customers, vendors, employees, and the community.Continuously strive to accomplish individual and EMI Services goals.Polite, professional, and courteous to others.
