Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a software manager in the Secure Processing Embedded software section. The manager will be responsible for the supervision of a Software Development team in the mission security product area. Management activities include providing technical oversight of design, development, and integration of software components of the entire software stack along with support of system integration and test.Additional responsibilities include proposal generation, software process leadership, executing performance appraisals, staffing allocations, and career goals development. The manager will guide the team in applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle in support of programs. The candidate should be experienced in leading and coordinating a team through challenging software development activities. The manager must guide the teams utilizing an Agile development approach with tasks including requirements decomposition, software design, coding, unit testing, integration, and systems test to deliver enhanced secure capabilities. Strong communication and people leadership skills are vital to this position. This position will be located out of our Linthicum Office.Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar engineering/technical degree, plus 7 years of progressive Software Engineering/Development experience - Experience as a Software Engineering/Development Team Leader - US citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance.Preferred Qualifications:- Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree with working knowledge of Linux or VxWorks operating systems - Prior software functional management experience (executing performance appraisals, staffing allocations, software process leadership, and career goals development) - Board support software experience - Management of budget for technical activities - Current, active Secret clearance or higher Salary Range: 134148 - 201222 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
