PRS Guitars is looking for a talented Public Relations Manager to join our full-time, in-house Marketing team in Stevensville, Maryland, USA. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with the right experience to join a growing, first-generation company. Reports to: Director of Marketing Summary of the Public Relations Manager: The PR Manager is responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining brand awareness and a positive public image for PRS Guitars through product reviews and brand editorial in industry and non-MI media outlets. This position is also responsible for identifying and developing partnerships that help to further the company's PR goals. Events, Influencer Relations, and the company charitable portfolio also fall under the Public Relations Manager's responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Public Relations Manager: Identify, establish, and maintain cooperative relationships with press/media outlets and Influencers to strategically create public awareness and influence public opinion while promoting PRS Guitars' image (including its products, employees, artists, leadership, and Paul Reed Smith) Develop and pitch compelling story angles primarily to national, secondarily to local media Draft and distribute press releases and communications, following up to ensure desired coverage Organize and oversee interviews with various staff and media outlets Manage product reviews and placements with MI Press and Influencers; maintain coverage log; balance coverage on new product launches and ongoing catalog support Memorialize earned media attention in monthly reporting Help to develop and implement strategy for brand identity and personality development of key employees/roles Help to identify and develop partnerships that support company goals, including Marketing Partners, key influencers and influencer channels, museums, and charitable partnerships. Act as key liaison. Plan all aspects of company events, including vetting opportunities, managing vendors, venues (on- and off-site), staffing, insurance, security, logistics, and related media coverage Work closely and collaboratively with Creative, Digital, and Artist Relations teams to advance business goals Plan, track, report on budgets for PR initiatives, events, and charitable efforts Experience Requirements and Competencies for the Public Relations Manager 5+ years working in marketing or media/public relations Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred Experience working with national press strongly preferred - music Industry experience a plus Guitar players/aficionados and general working guitar, amplifier, and/or other musical instrument knowledge beneficial Creative and analytical thinking Exceptional communication skills - verbal and written Strong planning and organizational skills Exceptional interpersonal skills - ability to work collaboratively with all levels of internal staff as well as with media, partners, and larger community Demonstrated ability to solve problems, make decisions, and build consensus Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fat-paced, dynamic working environment. Ability to manage and advance multiple projects and meet deadline Desire to work in a collaborative environment and to perform at all levels of the job - not afraid to roll up your sleeves Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Power Point Familiarity with and ability to learn/use project management software (Hive) and PR software (Meltwater) About Us: Since our humble beginning in 1985, PRS Guitars strives to create the highest quality instruments possible.
