We are seeking a Host Based Security System (HBSS) Administrator-Mid to join our team supporting the NAVAIR Data Center in Patuxent River, Maryland.This position provides support to the HBSS Team Lead in operating and maintaining McAfee software and clients for organizations supported by the NAVAIR Data Center. Activities that this position performs include deploying, configuring, testing, monitoring, tuning, upgrading, and troubleshooting HBSS components spanning a large and complex environment.The successful candidate will have a basic familiarity with the configuration and management of the Enterprise Level implementation of Host Based Security System (HBSS) to support the NAVAIR Data Center assets and remote sites following DOD mandated requirements.Responsibilities of the HBSS Administrator- Mid will include:Provide HBSS support to various organizations across the NAVAIR Data Center assetsComplete the following key functions for HBSS deployments across area of responsibility:Install updates to McAfee software as released and in compliance with STIG requirementsDeploy, maintain, and tune McAfee clients to meet current and future standardsCreate, deploy, and manage custom HBSS signaturesMonitor HBSS for intrusions, failures, and other issuesMonitor HBSS software to ensure that the clients/servers are operational and reporting properlyEnsure that clients do not block legitimate trafficEnsure the environment is updated according to DoD standards and guidelinesFollow approved DoD, STIG standards and DoD IAVA requirementsEnsure that all systems are operating with valid licenses for all installed softwareMaintain and troubleshoot the management systemsMonitor and audit configurations to ensure that unintended changes do not occurMonitor the health and performance of the security technology systemsSupporting application and system patch process and procedures, respond to problems and incidents as necessaryDevelop and maintain the 7.2.4 Data Center's HBSS SOPs, implementation planning, overall architecture and how the 7.2.4 Data Center will ensure HBSS will be fully operationalized in accordance with CYBERCOM direction.Working knowledge of how the HBSS system is configured and tuned to mitigate threats and adhere to DISA's requirements for compliance and, understanding how a change impacts our backend Windows, Linux and Solaris systems.Be familiar with the implementation of DISA STIGS and maintaining compliance with HBSS CTOs and other systems requirements.Knowledge in HBSS and its Graphical User Interface (GUI).Required Skills and Experience:Clearance Required: DoD SecretDoD 8570 (IAT Level II) compliant.
