Job Description:The Program Finance Analyst manages a diverse portfolio of programs under Corporate and Foundation Programs, Higher Education Initiatives, and Philanthropy. This includes monitoring and ensuring correct accounting for cash, expenses, and revenue according to the relevant principles in the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Analyst is responsible for developing renewal budgets, preparing all financial deliverables, and accurately budgeting for expenses in the fiscal year Plan. Additionally, the Analyst proactively monitors revenue and cash for IIE's membership-based initiatives and donations. On an as needed basis, the Analyst will provide financial analyses and recommendations to inform strategic business decisions, which may be presented to program directors and managers, sponsors, and IIE executives.Essential Functions:Manages finances for a portfolio of programs from developing the initial cost proposal through to award closeout. This includes creating and reviewing award status reports on a regular basis with program points of contact, analyzing burn rate and other financial metrics to maintain comprehensive financial projections and inform program decisions.Develops the framework for and communicates payment coding structure to program teams. Acts as award administrator throughout the life cycle of an award, including creating new projects and activities for financial tracking and reporting, uploading and tracking financial deliverables, and closing out awards.Works with the Higher Education Initiatives team to ensure cash and revenue are accurately recorded for a variety of programs including the IIENetworker (IIE's membership program), publications, internal initiatives, and sponsored programs. Analyzes revenue streams, projects future revenue and spending, and informs business decisions.Monitors accurate recording of pledges and revenue, ensuring correct restriction determination and set up in PeopleSoft, IIE's ERP system. Reconciles general ledger to Salesforce database on a regular basis. Liaises closely with the Philanthropy and Controllers teams to ensure accurate accounting and troubleshoot any issues.Education and Work Experience:Requires a Bachelor's degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.Requires at least two years of related work experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to drive common understanding across a variety of stakeholders.Familiarity with accounting principles related to fundraising.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with ability to run pivot tables, data validations, charts, and advanced formulas in Excel.Preferred experience in grants management with private foundations, corporations, and/or foreign governments.Exercise discretion on confidential matters.Proven ability to create and explain financial reports and analyses.To help promote and ensure the safety of our employees and those we work with, we require all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
