Patient Access Associate 2
Job DescriptionPatient Access Associates (PAA) are the first point of contact for patients. PAAs are in charge of scheduling appointments, surgeries, radiology procedures and more. As well as verifying insurance coverage to ensure approval and provide accurate payment information to patients. PAAs also complete all registration processes from confirming patient identification to HIPPA regulations. Lastly, Patient Access Associates assist in the admission of patients for hospitalizations and surgeries.PHC PAA Job DescriptionPartnership for Healthier Communities ( PHC ) is one of several community health-improvement initiatives of Inova's Community/Population Health Division. Partnership for Healthier Communities is designed to identify uninsured children and adults to connect them to an appropriate and affordable source of quality healthcare services through programs like Medicaid, FAMIS and local safety net providers.Job Responsibilities Provides community based education on the availability of health coverage through Medicaid and FAMIS, and/or Inova Financial Aid Program Provides one-on-one application and enrollment assistance for Virginia's Medicaid and FAMIS programs, and/or Inova Financial Aid Program Provides referrals to local safety net providers for those who do not qualify for Virginia's Medicaid and FAMIS programs Provides follow-up and re-enrollment assistance to ensure enrollees maintain coverage Provides post-enrollment education to new enrollees on their benefits and how to utilize services Requirements Fluency in both English and Spanish Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficient with using computer systems and typing 1+ years of experience in health care, customer service, patient relations and/or hospitality concierge Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions Self-directed and ability to prioritize work in a stressful environment Work schedule: 8 hours shift - Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 5pm - Work setting: Hybrid - telework and in-person.
