Responsibilities

This position serves as a Space Management Specialist and islocated in the Executive Office for United States Attorney (EOUSA), Facilities Management and Support Services Staff (FASS). Typical work assignments will include:
  • Plan, develop, and direct the acquisition, design, renovation, repair, construction, relocation and management of space and facilities.
  • Develop and recommend the space and facilities management and real property portion of the budget request which includes renovations, repairs, HVAC and rent forecasts.
  • Conduct research and analyses necessary to determine actual space needs, economy of use, and conformity of space requests to Federal Property Management Regulations and objectives and policies of the DOJ.
  • Plan and conduct periodic management surveys of space utilization by developing forms of measurement and recommending areas requiring close attention because of unique space problems.
  • Inspect construction projects while in progress and upon completion to ensure that craft work meets requirements.
  • Compose and prepare memoranda, letters, reports and special studies concerning space and real property.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

GS-12: Applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as providing guidance on the utilization of space and real property; assisting in the acquisition, design, renovation and management of space and facilities; and organizing and maintaining space assignment records and floor plans for an office.

GS-13: Applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as providing expert guidance on the utilization and design of space and real property; determining space requirements for a large organization; directing the acquisition, design, renovation, repair, construction, relocation and management of space and facilities; organizing and maintaining space assignment records and floor plans for an office and providing key officials with feedback regarding office layouts, office work flow and organizational relationships; and ensuring that existing space and future projects are in compliance with specific federal regulations, fire, life safety, and employees with disabilities requirements.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) - The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
