Overview: McCormick Taylor is seeking a Transportation Designer or Engineer to join our Baltimore, MD office. The primary duties of the Transportation Designer or Engineer are to serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Engineer/Manager on the engineering development of various transportation projects. Projects may include roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, transit facilities, as well as field visits and inspections. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Have basic engineering calculations and design skillsWork under the guidance of experienced project engineers/managersAble to work on multiple design projects concurrentlyFlexible to work with other disciplines to provide support when neededWill assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction. This will include plans, specifications, and cost estimates Qualifications: Knowledge of transportation design elements, standards, and constructability methods0-4 plus years of experience in the design of highway/roadway, civil engineering and transportation projects for Maryland counties, and local municipalitiesEfficient with Microsoft Office including Word and ExcelB.S. in Civil EngineeringStrong communications and technical writing skillsAbility to work on multiple assignmentsWilling and capable of performing occasional field work and have a valid drivers licenseEI certification preferredWorking knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, InRoads, and OpenRoads are a plusWe value your interest in our organization!
