Job Description Property Information : The Country Club of Fairfax, Fairfax, VA, located in the suburbs of Washington, DC, has an immediate opening for an experienced hands-on CFO/Controller with at least five years' experience in a private club setting. The Country Club of Fairfax is a private, member owned country club with over 600 members. The Club features an 18-hole championship golf course, fitness center, 11 tennis courts with one bubble (3 courts) for indoor play, an Olympic-size swimming pool with a diving board and wading pool and a large fitness facility. Dining in includes multiple ala carte venues and a large banquet facility. Annual dues volume is $3.3 million and total revenues of $8.0 million. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB The CFO/Controller is a member of Senior Management and reports directly to the General Manager with indirect reporting to the Club Treasurer. The Director of Finance/Controller has direct responsibility for the accounting and finance functions for the Club, including accounts payable, member billing, general ledger, cash flow analysis, internal controls, audit, budgeting, payroll, forecasting treasury & debt management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in an accounting or related field and at least 5 years of professional accounting experience with at least three of those years at the Director of Finance/Controller level or equivalent experience in country club operations. Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Clubessential software experience a plus. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word Prior Country Club experience required
