Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking Systems Engineers in Dulles, VA, to support the Raptor program. Raptor is a center-of-excellence for ground software development. Raptor is developing innovative tools to aid operators with planning spacecraft maneuvers and supporting vehicle activities, as well as monitoring the progress and safety of the mission. We are also developing tools which provide the operator and key decision makers with enhanced situational awareness into the status of the mission.Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking a/an System Integration Engineer. This position will be located in Dulles, VA and will support Tactical Space Systems Division in their development and deployment of satellite ground software to customer resources. The System Integration Engineer will work closely with the DevOps and Software teams to ensure that the ground software is deployed and operational on the target virtual infrastructure environment and that integration issues are identified and resolved. The Integration Engineer is also responsible for developing and implementing an effective process for the Program to follow, including checklists and related documentation. This position also handles automating the steps to confirm a software build has been correctly installed and is appropriately configured for functional system testing to start. The Integration Engineer is also responsible for ensuring the related simulators are installed and operating correctly to support full checkout of the software system including simulators for space vehicles, input messaging to the ground segment software, and the bus between the ground satellite control software and simulated space vehicles. The Integration Engineer will is also responsible for coordinating the Build delivery schedule for all of the Program's Task Orders as well as the environment(s) and their configuration necessary to support system testing for each Build. It is anticipated that this position will also play a key role in determining customer-specific solutions for maintaining operations while patching or upgrading the operational system. The Integration Engineer will also provide support to Performance Engineering as part of the effort to determine and address bottlenecks in the system's infrastructure / software architecture and implementation. Position requires strong communication skills - writing and briefingsTasks May Include: Ensure ground system software is correctly deployed and ready for system testing Automate the appropriate software deployment checkout steps Identify and resolve integration issue discovered during the build checkout activity Install, configure, and integrate simulator necessary for system testing Coordinate the build delivery schedule and required environment setups to support system test activities Create and manage the process across the Program for managing the build, environment standup, build deployment and checkout Help identify solutions for customer-specific requirement related to maintaining system operations during system patching and upgrading Support performance engineering Create and maintain engineering documentation for each of the above Basic Qualifications BS Degree with 9+ years experience in Systems Engineering, Integration, Software, DevOps, Verification or similar technical field Leadership experience coordinating and working effectively across DevOps, Software, and Test teams Solid hands-on experience deploying software and identifying / resolving integration issues between the software and software hosting environment Must be a US Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance Preferred Qualifications: TS / SCI Prior experience with satellite ground software Prior experience with space vehicle simulators Prior experience with ground segment bus simulators Previous experience setting up simulators and integrating them with mission software Good Linux and Microsoft Windows system administrator skills Salary Range: 125488 - 188232 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
