ABOUT THIS POSITION The Director, Service Provider Management for Global Investment Operations is responsible for providing leadership for and oversight to a portfolio of critical vendors that provide the record keeping, clearing and related services that are fundamental to the operations of our business. The role will be responsible for evolving a vendor organization that will provide high level governance and oversight to vendors that provide services and perform work on behalf of the firm. This will include leading and developing a team of vendor relationship managers who will be responsible for the day to day management of these vendors. In addition, the role must understand the strategic initiatives of the firm, understand the capabilities of our vendors, and ensure that we are leveraging these vendors to best meet the firm's goals and objectives. The Director, Service Provider Management will report directly to the Head of Shared Services for Global Investment Operations and will represent Investment Operations and the firm in key initiatives and vendor forums. Role Summary Regarded as the expert in their particular job discipline within the T. Rowe Price business unit. Solves unique problems that have a broad impact on the business or organization function. Contributes to the development of disciplinary strategy within their T. Rowe Price business; source of authoritative advice on best courses of action in area of expertise. Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements Responsibilities Serves as the primary knowledge base on vendor's product/service portfolio for the firm; accountable for the management of the most critical and largest service provider relationship(s). Establishes and coordinates overall provider governance and interaction program. Ensures strategic alignment between T. Rowe Price and service provider. Prepares regular reports on the overall status of the relationship and performance against agreed service levels; presents to senior management, firm, and high-level governing bodies such as product Boards, the treasurer for the T. Rowe Price mutual funds, the firm's chief compliance officer, etc. Leads contract and fee schedule negotiations for new services, new products, renewals etc.; coordinates support from legal and procurement. Acts as a senior level escalation point for unresolved issues across all services provided. Convenes and leads relationship governance reviews and committees Typical Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND -10+ years of total relevant work experience Preferred Demonstrated successful experience in all vendor management activities: identification, selection, negotiation, contracting, risk management, relationship management, financial management, performance management and contract management, preferably in financial services. Demonstrated effectiveness managing teams Change management experience Broad Investments, technology, operations, and service knowledge Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working partnerships through well-honed interpersonal skills FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
