Northrop Grumman's Enterprise Services organization is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer to perform key assignments for Engineering and Manufacturing networks. This position supports large heterogeneous unclassified networks made up of physical and virtual hosts with an emphasis on supporting modern Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) services to deliver service at the speed of relevance. This technical role requires an understanding of complex systems-of-systems virtual architectures, cyber security, and automation technologies. The position requires the ability to support a diverse user community of software, and hardware engineers in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include architecture design, implementation, and evaluation, hardware/software installation, development of software artifacts for automation and scripting of infrastructure as code delivering IaaS and PaaS, troubleshooting, monitoring, and tuning. Responsibilities also include maintaining system documentation, developing infrastructure support procedures, and providing security support. This position can be hired as a Principal (Level 3) or Sr. Principal (Level 4) Engineer, depending on the candidate's experience and education. Basic Qualifications: Requirements for a Level 3: At least 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related STEM field; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. (Equivalent combination of education with experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree requirement) Five or more years of recent and related Linux or Windows Server system administration experience. Ability to provide technical leadership to internal personnel on complex system implementation Proficiency with virtualization technologies: VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, ESXi, Horizon View Proficiency with Linux & Windows Operating Systems Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience providing remote support Requirements for a Level 4: 9 Years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related STEM field; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD. (Equivalent combination of education with experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree requirement) Five or more years of recent and related Linux or Windows Server system administration experience. Ability to provide technical leadership to internal and external personnel on complex system installation processes. Proficiency with virtualization technologies: VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, ESXi, Horizon View Proficiency with Linux & Windows Operating Systems Superior written and oral communication skills Experience providing remote support Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cloud Automation platforms: Vmware vRealize Suite, Terraform, CloudBolt Skilled in one or more of the following: VMware vRealize Automation, AWS/Azure/Cloud Technology, Kubernetes platforms (Rancher, Openshift, VMware Tanzu) Experience with using GitOps techniques to automate service delivery from a desired state configuration Familiarity with system automation by using scripting languages like Powe rShell, PowerCLI, Ansible, Salt, Python, JavaScript. Experience with Agile Scrum Methodology Experience working in Agile teams using Atlassian DevSecOps tools: JIRA, Bitbucket and Confluence Experience with network automation using technologies such as PowerShell, Ansible, Python, JavaScript VCP or CNCF certification or equivalent is a plus! Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay . Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
