JSSA is looking for an experienced Hospice Director to lead our hospice program. JSSA, a community-based non-profit, has a rapidly growing accredited Hospice program within a larger health and social wellness agency. For more than 30 years, we are the hospice in the community to turn to for exceptional end-of-life care that supports dignity and comfort for individuals, provides peace of mind to families, and honors cultural traditions and customs. Based on overall CMS quality data, JSSA hospice is currently the highest rated hospice in Montgomery County, Maryland. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Hospice Director is responsible for the functioning of the hospice department within guidelines and regulations as set forth by Medicare, Medicaid, third party insurance participation, licensure, accreditation, and agency policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Contributes to the leadership of the agency at large as a member of the senior management team Actively participates in budget development and adheres to approved budget and makes recommendations for program priorities Acts as an ambassador of the program and the agency at large and collaborates with JSSA's marketing and development function to ensure the accuracy of public information and materials Oversees the fostering of good relationships with community physicians and agencies Leads a diverse team of professionals through change management Implements marketing strategies targeting all segments of the community to grow and expand hospice services Represents the hospice program at community and hospice network meetings Ensures compliance with State/Federal regulations and Medicare Conditions of Participation and meets required accreditation standards Oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of the hospice performance improvement activities. Reviews all families' satisfaction survey responses and ensures follow up on all family concerns/complaints Reviews policies and procedures annually in conjunction with the Professional Advisory Committee to ensure that regulatory and accreditation standards are met Provides leadership in planning hospice staff education programs and encourages continuing education programs and seminars for all staff Leads and oversees the overall operations of the Hospice Program including hiring, evaluating, disciplining and educating hospice staff. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field. Master's in nursing, business, public health preferred 5-8 years of management experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in-home health, or hospice/palliative care Excellent communication and human resources skills Demonstrated business development experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and use of Electronic Health Records systems Carry professional liability insurance per agency policy Demonstrated experience with growing healthcare programs in volume, jurisdiction, and medical complexity across the care continuum in post-acute care Ability to translate data results into actionable decisions Demonstrated aptitude for new technology #RN The Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) has been helping people across the Washington metropolitan area meet emotional, social, and physical challenges for more than 120 years.
