Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is looking for a Senior Cloud Software Developer/Engineer (ELK (ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kibana)) for our Raytheon's EED (EOSDIS Evolution and Development) team in Riverdale, Maryland. Full time telecommuting is available for this position. Life with Raytheon Intelligence and Space In this role, you will work with an amazing team of engineers, on the EED-3 program, that supports NASA in its mission to provide scientists and other users access to data from NASA's Earth science missions. As a member of the EED-3 team, engineers support to innovative tools allowing scientists and students alike to discover, transform, update and improve the quality of earth science data in the pursuit of solving a wide range of environmental and socio-economic issues. More specifically, you will be working with the Cloud Metrics Team, which is developing cloud-based metrics dashboards, using Elasticsearch to capture ingest and archive metrics, and tailored to NASA's Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAACs) that each have a specific science focus. What You'll Get to Do: As a Senior Software Engineer on EED-3's Cloud Based Metrics team, you will develop data pipelines to supply data archive centers with self-service log and metrics analysis services to aid in their transition to cloud. The Cloud Based Metrics team is an established and high performing agile team working in the Scaled Agile Framework methodology. As a Senior Software Test Engineer , you will be responsible to: Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from user story generation, through design, development, automated testing and operational support Develop new feature ideas to meet the ever-evolving needs of our end-users Continually help the team grow by sharing new ideas and industry best practices Suggest improvements to processes and tools to help the team be more efficient You'll Bring These Qualifications 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer Experience developing data-driven applications with ELK (ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kibana) Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including at a minimum S3, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation and Terraform Experience describing application or development concepts using data visualizations and analytics Ability to work as a member of small team using the Scrum methodology Firm commitment to automated testing and continuous integration Bachelor degree and at least 5 years of software engineering experience It Would Be Great if You Also Had One or More of the following: Experience with machine learning / anomaly detection methods and best practices Experience working with development teams in an Agile methodology (preferably SCRUM or SAFe). Experience with Python, Ruby, Java, or JavaScript. Experience with DevOps, especially automated testing and continuous integration. Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA for bug tracking, Confluence for collaboration, and preferably Bamboo for continuous integration and delivery) Due to the nature of the work, we can only consider US citizens who are able to pass a National Agency Clearance with Inquires (NACI) screenings.
