We have an opening for a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.This is a key position requiring experience in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) architecture design, RF communications theory, and software defined radio design.The position requires significant experience with the system design of modems and SDR baseband using FPGA-based, high speed mixed signal (digital, analog, and RF) designs for both ground and space applications. The position also requires the ability to apply standard system engineering practices to interpret high-level requirements, derive child requirements, develop conceptual block diagrams of the digital/firmware architecture, simulate, and build a design that is compliant to the required performance specification.Additionally, this position requires the ability to lead technical teams and make the necessary assignments to a diverse team of software, FPGA, and hardware engineers. This role also requires the ability to communicate complex conceptions to program management and customers.TagsNGFeaturedJobs#LI-S-70Space SystemNoVASpaceDIVSEMMICBasic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (ideally a BSEE or related field) with some combination of the following course work: Digital Signal Processing theory, satellite communications, radio-wave propagation, electromagnetics, and antennas. Good understanding of communications and digital design theory- 5 years of related experience; or 3 years with a Master's; or a PhD- Ability to work with others from engineering and non-engineering disciplines in a fast-paced team environment- Familiarity with the operation of standard RF test equipment (ie, spectrum analyzers, power meters, network analyzers)- Experience in Radio communications architecture and digital modulation/demodulation techniques (Including forward error correction)- Strong oral presentation skills and comfort with customer interaction with the ability to write technical documents clearly and concisely- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)- US citizenship with an active Top Secret security clearancePreferred Qualifications:- MSEE (or higher degree) a strong plus- The ability to perform all or most of the following is highly desirable:- Design FIR, IIR and frequency domain matched filters- Design FM, PM, AM, QAM, etc. modulators and demodulators including carrier recovery, where applicable- Design FEC encoders, decoders of varying types including Viterbi, Reed Solomon, and Turbo codes- Design signal acquisition algorithms for TDMA, FDMA and CDMA schemes - Develop algorithms and model/optimize algorithm performance.
