Summary Construction Inspectors inspect construction and maintenance projects; performing tests on soils and materials. Work is performed under the supervision of a Project Engineer. In many cases, an Inspectors day to day direct supervisor may be a client's direct employee. Construction Inspectors have many categories that range from TET 1 to a TET 5. All Inspectors are required to travel and be available to work in any part of the State, subject to change of assignments, as work requires. Essential Functions: include the following. Performs field inspections of construction and maintenance projects and of existing roadways, structures and facilities. Conducts test on soils, asphalt, cements/concrete, aggregates, bituminous products, metal products and industrial coatings. Responds to Districts Office's data requests. Participated in traffic control activities. Other duties as assigned.
