About Girl Scouts Girl Scouts Nation's Capital is the largest Girl Scout Council in the country. It provides girls in grades K-12 with opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, and discover the power of girls together. We're the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. An Excellent Opportunity We are looking for a Program Specialist who will expand the Council's programmatic reach through strengthening the network of community partners for Girl Scouts throughout the Greater DC Region. We are on a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. The right candidate will ensure achievement of national program outcomes for girls by supporting Program Partners to deliver an array of events, resources, and leadership programs for girls in grades K-12. Here's What You Will Be Doing Maintain and establish relationships with Program Partners (ie science museums, sports groups, performing arts centers, historic sites, etc.) that create custom Girl Scout experiences. Become well-versed in Girl Scout Journeys and Badges, to provide resource-coaching to Program Partners. Ensure all Program Partner programs are developed within Girl Scouts health and safety, inclusivity, and other guidelines. Write content for weekly e-newsletter, monthly Program update flyer, and biannual print publication. Coordinate Congressional Aide program, which allows high school Girl Scouts to apply for week-long internships in legislative offices on Capitol Hill. Provide support for volunteer Archives Committee, helping to preserve Girl Scout historical artifacts and plan programming related to the history of the organization. Assist colleagues in the creation and implementation of programs throughout the year, such as the Math And Nature workshop. Organize several of the 1,000-4,000-member Council-level program events in collaboration with key community partners. Work with Customer Care and Marketing & Communications departments to post and publicize program events. Work with Finance department to manage Program Partner invoicing and payment. Provide excellent customer service to volunteers and Program Partners regarding program events. Is this you? Experienced with community relations or business development Enjoy working with adults on a mission that serves girls Superior writing skills Full of enthusiasm, with excellent oral communication skills for in-person and virtual presentations Strong, positive customer service skills for working with adults Ability to interact well with girls of all ages when the occasion arises Self-motivated and efficient with strong time-management and organizational skills Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and video-conferencing platforms (ie Zoom) Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, a plus Experience in marketing program events, as well as planning and facilitating virtual events, preferred Flexible and able to adapt to changes needed for programs and locations, including in-person and virtual events Ability to maintain a varied work schedule including frequent evenings and weekends Have access to automobile for regular travel Passionate about girl leadership; experience in Girl Scouting, a plus Some of Our Benefits 100% employer-paid HMO for employees (dependent coverage, POS, dental/vision available) 3% employer contribution to 403(b), plus additional 2% match Hybrid work environment: combining flexibility of telework with in-person human interaction!
