The Match Recommendation Platform (MRP) team has built the fastest growing source of job-job seeker positive matching at Indeed in 2020. The MRP Job Seeker Experience (JSX) team was created to own the quality of job recommendations and the job seeker facing touch points throughout the job seeker lifecycle. This team creates custom lucene queries for every job to search for the best qualified job seekers, and this team owns a job seeker facing website to engage with job seekers regarding these job recommendations. MRP JSX needs to expand the job seeker facing website to collect useful information to create a positive feedback loop in the MRP system to provide better job recommendations. MRP JSX is also challenged with creating new engaging experiences for job seekers throughout their career lifecycle. Your Job Build our platforms, systems and infrastructure using your strong background in algorithms, distributed systems and large scale storage systems. Design, develop, test, troubleshoot and maintain our software systems. Work with other engineers, Product, SRE and QA to manage individual project deliverables. Help scale the infrastructure for our massive sets of data to enable millions of service calls and database lookups. Have ownership over the things you build, help shape the product and technical vision, direction, and how we iterate. Work closely with a world-class team of software engineers, product managers and stakeholders so that they can leverage your work into new products and systems. Who You Are About you : BS in Computer Science or related area, or relevant work experience. 5+ years of professional experience in software development in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React or Kotlin. Knowledge of data structures and algorithms for writing scalable, high-performance software. Experience architecting and developing large scale distributed systems. Experience working on user-facing products. Passionate about your work and the problems you solve. Passion for collaboration and making others around you successful. Has a strong sense of ownership in everything you build. Proactively monitor and understand the production system. Design pragmatic solutions and use data to make informed decisions Proactively mentor those around you. Nice to have : Successful track record in a high traffic production environment. Experience using queueing systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra etc. We embrace open source technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Hadoop, Mesos, Docker, Memcached, Consul and MySQL in addition to AWS native technologies. Experience with cloud native technologies. Knowledge of performance tuning, optimization, garbage collection, multithreading and synchronization. Experience with Docker containers, relational databases like MySQL or Postgres. Experience or interest in machine learning. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
