Sr. Director, Learning- Enterprise Shared Services

Capital One is looking for a Senior Director to lead the Enterprise Shared Services Learning & Development team. Enterprise Shared Services is a tapestry of 9 organizations, woven together into one line of business. This talented individual will work closely with business leaders across these groups to collect & synthesize learning strategy for the full line of business. The person we're looking for is a tinkerer at heart and will love trying new things to stay on the leading edge of learning. This Senior Director is a lifelong learner themself, who loves the cycle of pilot, measure, learn, tweak, repeat. This person is a very strong people leader, who will inspire, empower, and enable their team to deliver innovative and iterative learning solutions, with a focus (though not exclusively) on digital-first learning methods.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of learning professionals to develop innovative learning solutions that will directly tie into the Enterprise Shared Services business strategy
  • Partner with business leaders and L&D teammates on learning strategies to enable game-changing business results as well as a strong lens on driving simplicity and scalability
  • Lead the development and implementation of learning initiatives in support of key business priorities
  • Implement learning best practices and innovative, creative learning strategies
  • Devise and implement a clear and consistent learning assessment model to measure results and return on investment, short term and long term
  • Prioritize learning efforts and effectively allocate resources


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 10 years experience in client consulting
  • At least 7 years experience leading and implementing learning strategies
  • At least 7 years of experience in people leadership
  • At least 3 years of instructional design or learning experience design


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Learning and Development or Organizational Design/Effectiveness
  • Professional Human Resources Certification or Senior Professional Human Resources certification
  • Executive coaching certification
  • At least 7 years of experience in managing a corporate learning function
