Role: Data Center Engineer Locations : Pittsburgh PA, Sandstone, VA, Herndon, VA Duration: 6+ Months Interview: Video/ Skype Visa: USC, GC, GCEAD, H1B, OPT Job Description: Perform various hardware and systems activities a Data Center Raised Floor environment supporting client systems. Conducts hands on system support tasks such as rack, stack, cable, power cycling: routers, servers, switches. Assists with management or upgrading of equipment components (eg, cards, blades, cables, etc.). Moving and/or securing cable(s) and cable connections according to Customers Standard structured cable management standards. Performs work under Project Tasks, evaluates change controls and implementation plans to perform work. Conducts physical inventory and documents all physical connections on computing devices. Requirements and Skills: 2 Years of experience working in Mission Critical Data Center environments Basic knowledge of data center: Copper and fiber cable systems/patching for networking and SAN Data center racking, component installations Data Center Rack power distribution Familiar with Data Center operations processes and policies Experience with data center rack, component, and cabling documentation tools and methodologies Ability to communicate clearly at all levels Ability to represent and project , brand and expectations Ability to lift 40 lbs. Proficient Use of technical hand tools Applicants must have certified training in Computer Data Center technologies. Job Requirements: Maintain infrastructure to data center standards Racking servers and devices within the data center Manage and maintain data center infrastructure, network, servers and equipments Requested from the data center engineers Supporting the data center and clients Performing all aspects of data center operations at all co-located and internal data center facilities Inform best practices in data center operations Provide remote-hands support for general data center facilities issues Configure switches, and support other data center functions Oversee and administer data center software solutions supporting planning and monitoring of data centers Understanding and ensure data center redundancy requirements Install and upgrade servers within the data center, including server additions and server removals Provide support in many areas of data center operations Improve documentation for the data center operations knowledge base Manage physical access to data center facilities and racks Assist with the patch cabling installation and systems racking at a data center Establish high performance and optimized data center, network operations center and telecommunication infrastructure, facilities and services Manage data center operations keeping normal lights-on operations Monitoring all data center, server & storage related activities at FMC Monitoring data center resources to proactively identify issues
