PDS Tech is seeking a Wire Design and Install Engineer for an open position in Manassas VA The ideal candidate will: Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Analyze results and perform design reviews. Develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (eg, equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas). Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (eg, rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). Document processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Develop basic statements of work. Participate in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. Analyze functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design. Work under general direction. Minimum Requirements: Candidates must meet the following requirements: Education: BSEE or equivalent technical degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience or MS with 2-4 years of relevant experience Proven experience with wire harnessing and design, including test Experience interpreting electrical schematics Experience with part selection and component trade studies Proficient with CAD modeling of harness assemblies Understands calibration techniques for electrical testing of equipment and cabling Proficient using EDA tools Experience with test planning and execution Experience with test procedure development and documentation Proficient using electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, waveform generators, DMMs, and logic analyzers Strong analytical skills and ability to debug complex systems Process oriented and familiarity with problem tracking systems Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work independently and deliver on schedule commitments Candidates must be willing to work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility as needed Desired Requirements: Candidates will perform all work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility Candidates will have experience in some of the following areas: Aircraft avionics Experience with Mentor Graphics Capital tool Block diagramming with Microsoft Visio Experience supporting the manufacturing process from requirements through build and test Experience designing and/or testing analog power electronics, including 28VDC systems and 115VAC Familiarity with high voltage power systems for electric aircraft propulsion Experience with environmental qualification and stress testing of hardware Familiarity with high-speed digital electronics, including serial data hardware interfaces IPC-620 AS50881 DO-160, DO-178 or DO-254 ARP4761, ARP4754 MIL-HDBK-516 MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704 PDS Tech, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
