The Finance team at CuriosityStream is seeking a Content Accountant. This Content Accountant will work directly with Finance, Legal, and Content personnel, and will be responsible for daily financial management of all the content comprising our popular, leading, and growing streaming service. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, analytical, and detail orientated with a strong desire to succeed.Responsibilities:Review and analyze all content costsUpdate and maintain content tracking schedules for costs, hours and cash forecastReview content agreements to determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with company policies and governing regulationsProvide financial support including forecast, budgeting and analyzing variations from budgetModel short and long term P&L amortization based on content publicationPrepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for content programmingDeep knowledge of foreign withholding tax implications in content agreements; process EFTPS payments to the IRS and prepare the 1042-S formsAssist in viewership and impairment reviewsAssist internal and external auditors with routine content requestsServe as a business partner with Legal, Content, Content Operations and Finance to resolve contract questionsPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 4+ years of experience in a similar roleExperience reviewing contracts and related documentationExcellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with different departments in the organizationAbility to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Excel is a must.
