Tyto Athene has over fifty years of experience supporting Federal State and Local Governments across the United States and around the globe.Tyto Athene is seeking a high-level Engineering Technician with skills to compliment an experienced team of technicians performing security system design, installation, and maintenance. Performs complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, selects and adapts plans, techniques, or layouts, contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others. Supervisor or engineer outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches. Individual must be capable of working independently on assigned tasks.Responsibilities:Develop sketches and shop drawings to clarify details and functional criteria of electrical devices.Develop Installation Design Plans (IDP's) and Base Electronic Systems Engineering Plan's (BESEP's).Review system and error logs for any problem indications.Physical inspection of access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection devices to insure full functionality and proper alignment.Test access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection devices to verify proper operation.Test backup battery systems.Installation of access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection equipment in accordance with plans, specifications, and detailed instructions, or reinstalling repaired or modified equipment.Repair of access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection devices to include detecting and diagnosing malfunctions, tearing down equipment, repairing or replacing parts or components, or aligning, calibrating and testing the modified or repaired equipment.Preventive and corrective maintenance to keep equipment and systems in maximum operating condition.Fault isolation, repair, and testing of complex level problems.Proper selection and use of General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment to affect fault isolation and/or equipment repairs.Manage subordinate technical personnel on assigned tasks.CONUS and OCONUS travel to effect installation and maintenance activityQualifications:Baccalaureate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and seven (7) years' experience or High School diploma with 10 years of electronic security installation experience.Five (5) years of installation experience with access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and physical security systems to include gates, vehicle barriers and turnstiles.Three (3) experience in the development of Installation and Engineering Design Plans.Experience programming and configuring Access Control solutions.Experience programming and configuring Video Management Systems (VMS).Five (5) years of experience managing subordinate technical personnel.Current certification of any listed is a plus: Lenel, Axis, Milestone, Bosch, Pelco, Interlogix, DMP, and FLIR.Valid passport for international travel.Active Top Secret Security Clearance is a plus.CompTIA Security + Certification is a plus.Equal Opportunity Employer: Disability/Veteran
