We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time, up to 18 hours per week, Program Associate to hone their skills in communications, marketing, recruitment and alumni relations with an energetic marketing and communications team. Reporting to the Communications and Digital Strategy Director, the Program Associate will support the AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships (STPF) program. STPF provides one-year fellowships in federal government for outstanding scientists and engineers to learn first-hand about policymaking while using their expertise to help address today's most pressing societal challenges. This role is a one-year appointment with the possibility of extension. Are you ready to be a Force for Science? What You'll Do Create and update web pages using Drupal content management software. Produce marketing and communication campaign assets including emails, landing pages, and forms within a marketing automation WYSIWYG editor. Research and/or write content for various products across multiple platforms: web, social media, print, video, etc. Create, edit and/or source media including images, video, etc. Research potential avenues to recruit scientists and engineers to apply to the program. Data entry: for example, data from outreach events. Use various tools and platforms such as Photoshop, Marketo, Form Assembly, etc. Participate on a team responsible for planning, managing and developing deliverables. Additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications University/college-level training leading to a bachelor's or higher degree. All majors considered. Communications, marketing and information systems majors preferred. At least one year of experience in communications or marketing. Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver or WYSIWYGs. Knowledge of best practices in web design preferred. Basic video editing skills preferred. Strong attention to detail and deadlines. Strong internet research and database search skills. Proficiency in Outlook and MS Word. Familiarity with Excel. Flexibility and the ability to work independently and manage a variety of tasks with competing deadlines simultaneously. Knowledge and skill in Photoshop, Illustrator or digital image creation and editing software, preferred. Experience with Drupal, Salesforce (or another CRM) and marketing automation a plus.
