Position Overview We are interviewing for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Public Affairs & Event Management Coordinators (DARPA SETA) for upcoming opportunities. The ideal candidate for this position should have Department of Defense (DoD) experience and experience managing and executing Public Affairs and Events for a Defense organization. Since its inception in 2004, E3 has supported numerous federal agencies with their mission requirements by working closely with them to help develop and execute external and internal communications campaigns across multiple fora and media to effectively articulate program goals and achievements. Duties include: Responsibilities Our COVID-19 Task Force is taking every measure to protect our employees during this time. Speak to a recruiter about our telework options. * Expert in Public Affairs, Communications and/or Event Management for a Department of Defense organization. * Communicate program and technical requirements into public release documents and correspondence in clear, concise and compelling terms. * Coordinate with MTO Front Office leadership and Program Managers to draft persuasive and compelling speeches and create presentations that focus on specific topics to effectively engage audiences; draft speeches and presentations specifically tailored for a customer and audience; and produce complex, high-profile speeches, presentations, and communications for the MTO. * Produce clear communications through a wide range of styles and formats, including formal speeches, PowerPoint presentations, blogs, videos, letters, articles, op-ed and bylined pieces, and social media channels. * Tailor messages to serve the needs of different audiences, including employees, clients, media, social media, academia, industry, the science and technology community, community organizations, and the general public. * Coordinate with DARPA Public Affairs and other DARPA office public affairs officers, to ensure effective communication of MTO programs and projects. * Identify areas of opportunity, establish best practices, and identify methods (ie tradeshows, conferences, publications) to promote DARPA to the research community. * Prepare and execute successful DARPA and/or office meetings, events, and/or challenges. Events may include DARPA-sponsored technical conferences, strategic off-site events, executive meetings, technology demonstrations, ad hoc special project, studies, assessments, and showcase events both on-site and off-site. Events may be classified or unclassified. * Draft, coordinate and provide compelling content for the MTO page on the DARPA website in accordance with current DoD and DARPA guidelines in a timely manner. * Understand DoD policies and regulations, especially related to the Public Release of information Required Qualifications * Minimum BS/BA in Communications, Jounralism or related field, and 5 (five) or more years relevant experience. * Experience providing Public Affairs, Communications and/or Event Management in a DoD R&D or Science & Technology environment * Demonstrated experience in developing Public Affairs campaigns to support DoD organizations, missions and/or programs * Demonstrated ability to effectively represent DoD organizations with the public, news media, and other external organizations * Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, as well as with multimedia and social media applications. * Secret clearance #AvantusClearedJob Preferred Qualifications * MA/MS in Communications, journalism or related field is highly desirable * At least two (2) years providing Public Affairs and Event Coordination suppport to DARPA is highly desirable.
