Director of Nursing- Delaware Eye Surgery Center The Delaware Eye Surgery Center, located in the beautiful coastal community of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware has a challenging and rewarding job opportunity for a seasoned nurse leader to steer their team as the Director of Nursing.The two operating room surgery center is accredited by AAAHC and Medicare, and has an outstanding reputation specializing in ophthalmic surgery, and is known for providing compassionate care in a friendly atmosphere from its highly experienced nursing staff. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for managing and providing leadership to the clinical staff, effecting great influence on the organization, clinical quality, culture, leadership development, patient satisfaction, operations, and leadership during re-accreditation processes.They will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and administrative staff to ensure the facility runs according to policies and procedures. The Director of Nursing will report to the Executive Director of the facility.Responsibilities:Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate activities of clinical and business operations of the facility.Direct, monitor, and evaluate activities to ensure professional medical/nursing care for each patient.Develop/implement entity specific policies and procedures affecting daily operations.Develop, direct, evaluate, and administer financial, administrative, and personnel policy, procedures, and standards of conduct.Assist Executive Director with vendor relationships and negotiations.Provide direction for evaluation of all facility programs and committee activities, including but not limited to the Quality Management Improvement, Risk Management, Safety, Infection Control, and delegate responsibilities to appropriate personnel.Monitor/review performance evaluations of all clinical employees.Monitor/review appropriate scheduling/staffing activities of patients, physicians, and personnel to ensure quality of services and cost effectiveness.Provide direction for employee training and motivation.Monitor/assist in the credentialing process.Develop/monitor guidelines and standards for assuring compliance with state licensure, CMS, federal regulations (OSHA, CLIA, etc.) and accreditation.Oversee the activities of recruiting, selection, supervision, and counseling of personnel.Provide appropriate personnel/resources to conduct Center activities.Provide a safe environment for all customers and employees by implementing preventative maintenance programs.Perform other administrative duties as delegated or assigned by the Board of Directors.Qualifications:Minimum two years experience as Administrator, Director of Nursing or Manager in an Ambulatory Surgery Center that provided ophthalmic surgery services. Strong knowledge of state, regulatory, and CMS requirements. Has participated in a AAAHC or Joint Commission survey.
