Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group Partner has several information systems implementation projects going into Production, reoccurring IT compliance reviews, user access reviews, and internal audits. They're seeking a Technical Editor to enable all phases of documentation development and maintenance in support of these activities. Responsibilities:

  • Research, interview, and follow-up with ITS staff regarding documentation requirements to define scope for each writing, maintenance, and formatting assignment; all documentation is completed within company standards and guidelines
  • Support development of organized content using company and/or specific industry standards/guidelines, such as MLA and GPO guides
  • Establish and/or refine documentation standards and style guidelines, templates, and compliance with pre-existing products as required
  • Write, proofread, and edit all types of documentation
  • Adapt text to any of several different audiences, apply the appropriate tone and voice
  • Meet with ITS staff to identify documentation assignment milestones
  • Ensure that quality reviews and documentation approvals take place
  • Schedule and attend all documentation creation/maintenance meetings and oversee facilitation, recording of minutes, action items and decisions, and follow-up on action items

Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in writing, editing, and formatting information technology department documentation such as policies, processes, standard operating procedures, instructions, system user guides, quick reference guides, etc.
  • Ability to interview staff members to obtain information to produce and modify information technology department documentation
  • Strong communication skills to include speaking, presenting, writing, listening, and facilitating work sessions
  • Experience with content management systems (Confluence or SharePoint)
  • Experience in creation of Visio-oriented diagrams and flowcharts
