The MIL Corporation seeks a Web Development, Senior Associate ( UX Designer) to support a Federal Government client at one of our Washington, DC locations. The UX Designer will contribute to the overall digital strategy of a large agency seeking to create a unified web presence and seamless user experience among internal and external end-users and constituents.

  • Support and engage all facets of the UX process, including user research, information architecture, content strategy, interaction design, user interface design, and visual design
  • Enhance user experience by creating seamless navigation through various digital programs and interfaces within the agency
  • Combine interface design concepts with digital design and establish milestones to encourage cooperation and teamwork
  • Build storyboards to conceptualize designs to accurately convey user journeys to clients and senior management
  • Develop and maintain design wireframes, functional mockups, style guides and specifications
  • Use recent studies and findings to establish the best overall design elements to include in UX design experiences
  • Review testing of applications, websites, and software in development to assess user experience and ease of design
  • Determine use cases and user interaction to design solutions to support business objectives
  • Leverage customer responses and website analytics data to continuously improve upon aesthetics and design features
  • Work closely with the UX Lead to maintain site policy, guidelines, standards, and consistency of look and feel of digital properties in accordance with the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act (IDEA)

Required Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing UX design
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to create top-performing interfaces for clients
  • Proficient with visual design programs such as the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe XD and Photoshop
  • Experience with coding and ability to troubleshoot using HTML, CSS and related preprocessors (e.g. SASS), JavaScript and related frameworks (e.g. React), and comparable technologies
  • Experience with content management systems including Drupal 8 or similar
  • Experience addressing cross-browser compatibility issues and with responsive design
  • Continued education and research into UX trends and current design strategy and technologies
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and presentation skills, and a high degree of professionalism when communicating with customers and clients
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
  • Ability to demonstrate visual design expertise, including gathering raw data from various sources and developing comprehensive and visually engaging designs
  • Knowledge and experience with evolving Web standards, accessibility and 508 compliance requirements
  • Understanding of industry best practices, standards, and design systems including U.S. Web Design System
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and assign priority
  • Proven track record of successful collaboration with an agile development team
  • Per federal guidelines, ability to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or obtain by January 18, 2022

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience with government contracting
  • UX Certifications/professional memberships (IDF, NN/g, UXPA membership) are a plus
  • HTML5 and CSS3 are a plus
