At Capital One, you will help advise on strategic initiatives, programs, and projects to create business value in a risk-based and agile manner. You are pragmatic and practical in your understanding of Technology and have a passion for Risk Management and People Leadership. You are an advocate in the value of data driven decision making and are able to influence in a matrixed environment with peers and various levels of management. This role will lead Risk-based activities across the Cloud & Productivity Engineering (CPE) Organization and serves as a critical intermediary between our CPE Organization and Capital One Risk teams.

  • Familiarity with risk management activities in banking and financial services
  • Manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines, independently
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with Leadership, tower leads, and partner teams
  • Collaborative, team player with the ability to navigate organization's
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and empower team
  • Ability to manage and allocate resources based on changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Define and execute on organizational goals
  • Set prioritization of work and mitigate obstacles
  • Ability to work autonomously in white space
  • Be a key role in delivering on our well-managed risk management and reporting objective
  • Leverage analytical skills to identify trends and proactively improve risk posture
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective listening skills and synthesize complex and nuanced communications
  • Fluent with JIRA / Confluence execution
  • Passionate about continuously learning


What you'll do..
  • People Leader for the CPE Risk Management vertical will recruit and manage a high performing team
  • Lead risk management activities across CPE business functions partnering with Capital One Risk Teams
  • Leverage analytical skills to identify trends and reporting needs
  • Influence peers and various levels of management
  • Define and implement well managed processes and routines for sustainability
  • Identify and enhance processes where automation has the potential to improve efficiency
  • Develop communications for senior leadership audience
  • Maintain technical and risk credibility with your own team and with partners across the enterprise
  • Act as an advocate for all aspects of risk management within CPE
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with Leadership, tower leads, and partner teams
  • Manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines, independently
  • Be a key role in delivering on our well-managed risk reporting objective


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in risk management or compliance
  • At least 3 years of People Leadership experience
  • At least 3 years of experience partnering with internal business clients
  • At least 2 years of Agile or Project Management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6+ years experience in finance, audit, or consulting
  • 2+ years experience working with financial regulatory agencies
  • 2+ years experience with JIRA or Confluence
