Synerfac is seeking an Environmental Compliance Inspector for our client in Fairfax, Va. Our client is the largest heavy civil construction company and materials provider in the Mid-Atlantic. Environmental Compliance Inspectors monitor and perform environmental inspections to ensure regulatory compliance during the construction phase of the project. Responsibilities: ~ Familiarity with federal and state regulations and permitting requirements as they pertain to wetlands, natural resources, cultural resources and land disturbance. ~ Experience with Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) standards and Best Management Practices (BMP's) Assist with environmental compliance related to waste generated within the assigned segment of the project. ~ Perform VPDES/NPDES and VWP inspections and complete associated reports. ~ Compile inspection findings, interpret observations, develop corrective actions, and track their timely implementation. Qualifications: ~ 1-3 years of environmental construction and/or inspection experience. ~ Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Construction Technology, or related field preferred. ~ VDEQ ESC and SWM Inspector Certification. ~ VDEQ ESC and SWM Plan Reviewer certification or ability to secure within 6 months. ~ Ability to interpret construction plans and overall design intent.
