Responsibilities: Generate monthly complex invoices in a government-contracting environment and performs all activities in the accounts receivable function. This position must also be extremely well versed with government Contracts (T, CPFF, FFP), govt. funding.Prepare monthly invoices for prime and subcontracts billing to the government or prime. Prepare manual invoices in Excel. Enter and post in Costpoint. Calculate automated invoices in Costpoint. Review and post in Costpoint. Prepare Schedule billings.Submit invoices to the client via email and onto the various govt. portals, IPP, WAWF or other contract specific submission requirements. Call clients to confirm invoices received. Maintain receivable status.Create and maintain billing files that include the base contract, subsequent modifications, and invoice copies, revenue vs. billed/unbilled reconciliation, and customer correspondence etc.Follow up on payment discrepancies with clients (short pays and over pays). Elevate payment issues to the Finance Lead, Program/Project Manager and Accounting & Finance.Set up new projects (FFP, T, and CPFF) in the accounting system based on project requirements and ensure the proper recognition of revenue; Ensure correct revenue and billings formulas are selected, provide timesheet access.Review and interpret contract mods to set up proper billing format and project structure.Serve as a liaison between Program Managers and Corporate Project Accounting.Research details of old and on-going contracts to finalize closeouts.Provide accrual details for subk invoices not received for the period close and enter accruals in CP. Calculate and accrue GSA IFF fee based on sales for quarterly payment and assist with other GSA monthly, Qtrly and annual reporting requirementsSupport month end and year end close out tasks related to project accounting, contract costs, and revenueAs required, participate in initiatives to improve processes Assist with various financials and other auditsPerform other duties as required Qualifications: Strong knowledge of Deltek Costpoint Billings, Project and AR ModuleProficiency in Microsoft excel, wordStrong oral and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be organized and able to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline driven environment. Ability to be flexible and willing to help with other miscellaneous requests. Must possess government contract knowledge and government billing experience.Knowledge of the standard financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and the relationship between them preferred.Understands the general ledger and the relationship between various general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers preferred.Understanding of US Accounting Standards preferredEducation:Bachelor of Science in Accounting or equivalent from and accredited university.5-10 years Accounting experience and billings experience.Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust ClearanceLocation: Rockville, MD
