About the Company & Opportunity Our client is a leading professional services firm looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will also run accounting software programs (eg SAP) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful accounting assistant should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department Typing accurately, preparing and maintaining accounting documents and records Preparing bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements Job Requirements We are looking for an objective Accounting Clerk who combines a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You should be highly organized and detail-oriented and possess the ability to effectively work both independently or in a team setting. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Requirements for the Accounting Clerk position include: Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts receivable clerk or Accounts payable clerk Bachelors degree preferred Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports Accuracy and attention to detail Aptitude for numbers Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks Data entry and word processing skills Well organized Accounts Payable Clerk experience Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid computer and data entry skills
