Our client is looking for a Clinical Laboratory Assistant located in Washington, DC . Description: Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, and maintaining records of patient test results. Follow procedures that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples. Follow laboratory quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations/maintenance is performed. Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to the Lead/Supervisor or anonymous reporting system. Checking inventory and ordering supplies. Performing clerical duties. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Cell Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Science. Minimum of 6-month related Clinical laboratory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is strongly preferred. BSL2 laboratory experience preferred, including but not limited to specimen processing and laboratory support in a research laboratory setting. Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, such as word processing and laboratory information systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance. Knowledge of medical terminology required. To minimize cross-contamination risk during specimen collection/evaluation candidate(s) upon hire must be willing to test for SARS-CoV-2 on a daily basis (via shallow nasal swab) where testing is being conducted or if interaction with specimen collection is required.
