Cohen is actively seeking a well-organized, detail-oriented Employee Benefit Plans Assurance Senior with over 4 years of experience with a mid-large CPA firm responsible for overseeing audit engagements for employee benefit plans. This position will continue to guide and train staff-level accountants. Experience with audit of government contractors, and or not-for-profit organizations is a plus. At E. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to affect positive change throughout the firm and build long-lasting relationships.Responsibilities of the EBP Assurance Senior may include:Prepare more complicated financial statements and footnote disclosures (eg, consolidating financial statements).Work with managers and above to plan engagements.Gain a comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes and business objectives.Perform internal control walkthroughs at client.Assume "in-charge" responsibilities for planning, fieldwork and wrap-up of engagements.Use knowledge and information of client to identify areas of need/opportunity.Review staff-level prepared work papers.Review financial statements, footnote disclosures and other deliverables.Identify and begin to implement improvements to internal firm processes.Build and nurture a group of business contacts.Participate in appropriate community, professional, and networking organizations.Lead internal continuing education sessions.Remains current with professional standards and applies technical knowledge effectively.Must keep up-to-date with regulatory continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.The candidate must possess these abilities:Be comfortable with working across multiple software applicationsFlexibility to quickly move from one project to anotherMaintain confidentialityLearn quickly, multi-task and retain detailed informationWork independently and in a team environmentWork under time pressure and meet deadlines while producing accurate work and maintaining a professional attitudeDependability with regards to attendance and punctualitySuccessfully handle job details and routine day-to-day issues independently, assuming responsibility without constant direct supervisionStrong computer, organizational, communication and time management skillsWorking in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with some overtime on evenings and weekendsFollow policies and proceduresRequirementsQualified candidates must be eligible to work for any employer in the United StatesEducation/CertificationsMust have a bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field.
