Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an Emergency Psychiatric Treatment Coordinator who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As an Emergency Psychiatric Treatment Coordinator, you will:
•Provide clinical triage services between the Emergency Department, EPTU, and Needs Assessment office
•Request medical and psychiatric consults as indicated
•Liaise across the Behavioral Health Service line
•Contact managed care representatives, third party payers, primary physicians or other relevant persons in order to provide clinical and/or demographic information required to verify insurance and/or obtain authorization for clinical services
•Review clinical information and determine appropriate level of care for the patient after consulting with the attending physicians
•Document services and calls in the EHR, tracking log and department coversheet
•Assist with clinical dispositions, including providing resources and linkages to individuals returning to the community, as well as bed searching for facilities outside of AHC

Qualifications include:
•Clinical knowledge of ICD-10 & DSM V
•Ability to multi-task and mastery of time management skills
•Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
•Ability to work independently
•Demonstrate effective communication "warm hand offs" between providers, shifts, departments/units, etc and "closing the loop" on all cases
•Proficiency in electronic medical record keeping; Microsoft Office Suite; operating telephone, fax machine & photocopier
•Knowledge of patient rights and laws pertaining to mental health.
•Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or other related field
•2 + years of experience working in mental health.
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
