Principal Associate, Cyber Program Management Office

Capital One is seeking a strong Principal Associate to provide program and project quality assurance as part of the Cyber Organization's Program Management Office (PMO). A strong candidate will be one who excels in a team environment. This person will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proven track record of managing the completion and review of tasks and deliverables as they go through implementation to ensure they meet expectations. They will thrive working across teams and will also support a small program management team that works alongside our Cyber Product Management and Agile Delivery teams to provide strong program governance that enables the security of Capital One's environment.

Who You Are:
  • You exhibit a strong ability to identify and ensure a project or program and its related tasks and subtasks are aligned to deliver a specific outcome
  • You are able to apply the appropriate risk-based lens to projects at all phases of implementation
  • You are a strong collaborator with solid communication and partnership skills for interacting and communicating with delivery teams to ensure deliverables meet expectations
  • You can work with minimal supervision and have the confidence to escalate an issue wherever necessary to address or remediate risk


What You'll Own:
  • Collaboratively work with multiple teams including Cyber's Product Management Team and Agile Delivery Management Team to ensure assigned programs and projects achieve desired outcomes
  • Facilitating and ensuring adherence, in both spirit and intent, to definitions of done for assigned programs and projects
  • Supporting the development of presentation materials to communicate concerns and impediments that may hinder the achievement of intended project or program outcomes for the purpose of escalation
  • Producing data driven reporting on the status and health of individual projects within your quality assurance purview
  • Support the development of governance documentation that defines responsibilities for program and project management across Product Management, PMO, and Agile Delivery teams
  • Using common tools and processes, capture detailed data and information that can inform program and project decisions


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of experience with information technology programs
  • At least 2 years of agile delivery experience



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ years of experience working in a cloud environment
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
  • Project Management (PMP) or Program Management (PgMP) certification
