Responsibilities

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: As the Executive Officer to the Deputy Director of HD, you will assist in planning and scheduling of all events involving DD/HD. You will manage the flow of internal and external information and taskers directed to HD. You will manage record keeping of HD correspondence and other formal documents approved by DD/HD. You will serve as the HD Front Office liaison across internal HD and external NGA organizational boundaries for providing information and guidance on policy and procedures. You will assist the DD/HD in addressing requirements in a timely manner to meet all suspense dates established by the NGA Corporate Governance team, USD(I) and ODNI. You will lead, encourage, enable, and participate in innovative thinking and process improvement. You will identify and analyze problems using appropriate methodology to provide HD with effective solutions for those problems. You will continually analyze processes and procedures under your management to ensure that they accurately and efficiently meet the needs of HD. You will build professional relationships with customers, colleagues, and members of HD Offices, NGA elements, the NSG Community, and the IC to understand their mission and to gain insight into their interests, needs, and concerns, and reflect this relationship in your work.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.

Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.

NGA utilizes all processes and procedures of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's annual performance evaluation is a key factor in the performance pay process. Employees on term or temporary appointments are not eligible to apply for internal assignment opportunity notices.

This position is a DCIPS position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. DoD Components with DCIPS positions apply Veterans' Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 USC, in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement. Qualifications

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). 1. Demonstrated ability to manage senior leader's calendars and prepare read-ahead material.
2. Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and prioritize tasks within schedule or timeline where requirements frequently change.
3. Demonstrated ability to successfully engage, collaborate, and lead discussions with appropriate offices and personnel to successfully develop corporate communications.
4. Demonstrated ability to be a quick learner, be self-motivated, and have attention to detail. Must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within various team settings. Individual must continuously look for ways to improve results, show resourcefulness, and drive for excellence.
5. Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office applications. To include, scheduling and managing calendars in Outlook, building and updating PowerPoint briefs, Excel files, and Word documents.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Communications, English, Public Administration, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in the performance of executive or general officer administrative support, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years experience in the performance of executive or general officer administrative support, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:

1. Demonstrated ability to assist with coordination and execution of high-level events such as town halls, offsites and VIP visits.
2. Demonstrated experience working in a large, fast-paced dynamic senior leadership office setting.
3. Experience reviewing and editing documents, files, and correspondence for proper formatting and grammar.
4. Experience booking travel through NGA's Management and Execution Tracker (MET) and DoD's Defense Travel System (DTS).
5. Knowledge of NGA organization and governance structure.
6. Demonstrated ability to work closely with a senior leader, maintaining their inbox, alerting them to high priority issues, and using discretion as needed. To include, ensuring the policies, opinions, and perceptions of senior leaders are fully considered and accurately reflected.
