Many of our recent hires answered YES to at least one of the questions below:+ Are you interested in contributing to technical projects that you can feel passionate about?+ Are you tired of having your performance tied to billable hours instead of your impact?+ Do you want to work in the public interest?+ Do you want to feel like your ideas are valued and you are more than just an FTE?+ Are you interested in working for a company where a 40-hour week is the norm and not the exception?+ Do you want exceptional benefits, including tuition reimbursement for coursework towards an advance degree in a technical discipline?Job Responsibilities (Required):To be successful you will:+ Be passionate about applying your Disability Evaluation skills to help VA better serve our nations Veterans.+ Have an innate curiosity and interest in understanding and solving complex problems using quantitative and qualitative methods.+ Be comfortable working directly with a spectrum of VA leadership to gain understanding of their challenges, evaluate possible solutions and conduct insightful, actionable analyses in an ambiguous environment with competing stakeholders.+ Willingness to become a domain expert in the delivery of Veterans Benefits.+ Present results in an intuitive, actionable manner that can be understood by all audiences, regardless of technical expertise.+ Work on or lead projects throughout their life cycle, including conceptualization, requirements definition, data procurement, development, integration, and socialization.Minimum Qualifications:+ Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.+ Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.Required Qualifications:Candidates will be required to have:+ Demonstrated understanding of medical references, such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders IV.+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.+ Demonstrated ability to understand complex processes and design transformation approaches to improve mission performance.+ Experience developing models and prototypes to help government leaders understand existing processes and second order effects of system and organizational changes.+ Experience developing business requirements based on government leadership input.Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to candidates with desired experience including:+ Prior experience supporting the Veterans Benefits Administration and associated Lines of Business and Staff Offices.+ Helping government leaders to define and plan new products or services for citizens or internal customers that align to the agency's mission, vision, goals and strategies.+ Identifying business operations processes that are candidates for automation, uncover automation barriers, provide reengineering recommendations that could improve opportunities for automation, and propose automation strategies and roadmaps+ Assisting in analysis and improvement at multiple levels of business process design and execution at the department and agency level, identifying their core competencies, defining measures, and identifying capabilities.+ Working with government leaders to identify, explore, and frame complex problems that require highly innovative solutions.+ Aiding federal clients in continuous process improvement efforts such as Lean Six Sigma programs, as well as business process reengineering (BPR) projects.+ Advanced degree in Engineering, Management Sciences, Information Systems Management or other problem-solving disciplines.+ Experience designing appropriate tasking and/or leading multi-functional teams.
