Technical Help Desk SpecialistImmediate OpeningExperienced with IAT Level II CertificationLocation: NAS Patuxent River, MDClearance: Minimum Active Secret Rollout Systems is currently hiring a Technical Help Desk Specialist for the F-35 JSF IT contract which currently has several years left on the contract. We are providing knowledge-based, information assurance and cybersecurity IT services to the F-35 JSF Virtual Enterprise (JVE) network in support of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO). We encourage you to add a cover letter letting us know why you are the best person for this job.As a Technical Help Desk Specialist, you will:Provide technical assistance to computer users.Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically.May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems to other individuals on the Joint Strike Fighter program.Respond to and diagnoses problems through discussion with contract users.Ensure a timely process through which problems are controlled. Includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps.Supervise operation of help desk and serves as focal point for customer concerns.Provide support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support.Document, track, and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution.Provide second-tier support to end users for either PC, server, or mainframe applications or hardware.Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem.Simulate or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.Minimum Education Required:AS/AA degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related IT discipline.ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Six (6) years of related experience for AS/AA degree in addition to minimum experience required (below).
