Job Description

The Washington Post Design department has an immediate opening for a six-month contract designer.

Our designers are responsible for the presentation of some of The Post's most ambitious stories across a wide array of digital and print products. Top applicants must be skilled in integrating text, photography, video, audio, graphics, illustrations and typography using a variety of approaches.

We are looking for a journalist who can work well with multiple departments throughout the organization while flourishing in a fast-paced news environment. It is essential that this person be a team player who can multitask while building both digital and print experiences.

This position is based in our Washington newsroom. Once we resume normal operations, it will not be eligible for remote work.
