Designs and develops layouts for electrical circuits or systems. Assists in the production of detailed schematics and panel layouts. Basic knowledge of electrical equipment and building codes. Reports to manager or lead. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.

Responsibilities
  • Creating, initializes, and modifies the following:
    • 3D control panel assemblies with Autodesk Inventor.
    • Electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical.
    • 2D panel drawings with AutoCAD Electrical or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Maintains correct Bill of Material information in all CAD packages.
  • Creating hard copies of drawing packages, wire labels, and engraved tags.
  • Project Management duties include:
    • Completion of drawings to a deadline.
    • Releasing Bills of Material for procurement and manufacturing.
    • Following revision and change request processes.
  • Utilize established techniques, standards, and tool to prepare technical drawings.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in schematic drafting
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in manufacturing electrical and control panel design
  • Proficient with 3D and 2D CAD Packages
  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical equipment, construction, and regulatory codes.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturer's drawings and manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build effective relationships with engineers, customers, sub-contractors, and suppliers
  • Self-motivated to learn about technology and improve processes.
  • A self-managed individual who is a team player.
  • Ability to travel (less than 10%), work weekends, holidays and overtime when required.
Preferred
  • Experience in Inventor or Solidworks
  • Experience in EPDM, Autodesk Vault or Windchill PLM.
  • Experience in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • General Knowledge of IEC and NFPA 79 electrical standards.
  • General knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and/or networking.
