The Emergency Center
- 52,000 visits in FY21.
- Has the nations first and the region's only Seniors Emergency Center; a
Pediatric Emergency Center and a separate zone for Express Care
- Designated as a Primary Stoke Center and Cardiac Interventional Center
- Diagnosis and treatment enhanced by rapid response teams, virtual
consultations and state-of-the-art technology for patient monitoring
- Modernization plans underway


Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer, provides mission-focused care in an open, friendly and collaborative environment.

  • The Senior Director, Emergency Services is responsible for the operational management, leadership, professional development and quality of care delivery of the Emergency Services.
  • Collaborates with medical leadership to monitor quality and assure that care is delivered in an efficient and effective manner.Improving the patient experience and ensuring staff safety.
  • Manages a highly skilled team of emergency medical center experts. Provides an opportunity for professional growth and development. Promotes and ensures staff voice in professional practice.
  • Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with others, including managers, directors, external constituents and other providers.
  • Leads work teams and committees to develop and achieve workplans.
  • Prepares and manages operating budgets to meet organizational goals and objectives. Works with managers to monitor expenses and take corrective action to meet budgeted targets. Accurately forecasts costs by trending key cost drivers and other health industry trends.

What you will need:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, health related field or business.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State.
  • Minimum of seven years related nursing practice. Minimum of six years management experience in Emergency Services.
  • Proficient and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong financial management skills. Educated in lean methodology, operational excellence and fluency in Excel strongly preferred.
